Xanga is OUT

I think it is interesting because i know that when i started school xanga's where really a big deal and everyone had to had one. It was in my personal experience the first introduction to what would later become the trend that myspace and facebook have become for young people. I still personally have my xanga account and i love that i can still go back and look at all my entries but it is interesting to see how simple xanga was and is compared to myspace.

Deviant Art

Deviant Art is a website where people have the opportunity to share photos, art and writing to other creative people. When you upoad work to the site it is automatically copywrited. This site gives you the opportunity to connect to creative people around the world i have had the opportunity to see the work of photographers in spain, canada, afghanistan and so on. It is a really neat and new way to put your work out their in a creative community where you can recieve feed back. The site also has a store where you can buy prints from other artists and you can also enter in contests and fundraisers. The site is constantly being updated daily by people around the world making it a very new interesting place for communication and new media to connect people.

New Media In Class

In my opinion new media is any new medium to which new forms of communication can be realized. Media is a part of everyday life and while sometimes it is seen as a hinderance or overwhelming by all but with all the chances at communicating new ideas and concepts the world is becoming a much smaller place. the daily interactions of people are becoming more expansive and people have the chance to interact with more people and their views of the world their ideas ect. I think that new media is a tool that is being used to make the world a more readily available tool and the world a much more interactive place.
